  • What is a concussion?
    A concussion is a traumatic brain injury that affects your brain function. Effects are usually temporary but can include headaches and problems with concentration, memory, balance, and coordination.
    Concussions are usually caused by a blow to the head. Violently shaking of the head and upper body can also cause concussions. Some concussions cause you to lose consciousness, but most do not.
    Falls are the most common cause of concussion. Concussions are also common if you play a contact sport, such as football or soccer. Most people usually recover fully after a concussion.
  • What is a headache?
    A headache is pain or discomfort in the head or face area. There are several types of headaches such as: migraine, tension, and cluster. Headaches can be primary or secondary. A secondary headache is caused by another underlying condition.
  • Whatis the impact of a headache on my life?
    Headaches can be a severe and disabling condition. They could have ramifications such as loss of concentration or focus, general fatigue, dizziness, vomiting and irritability.
  • What can I do about this?
    Our physical therapists are trained to diagnose the origin and mechanical dysfunction causing the headaches. Physical Therapy can help with headaches that originate from the jaw, muscles and joints using a wide range of techniques.
